Informations scientifically documented in science (chemical encyclopaedias) should become the common man's knowledge. Many books are available to the public in English.  But these are written in English and other European environments suiting to their needs and requirements. This clearly manifests the need for popular books on topics like "Chemicals in Everyday Life" suited to Kerala situation. The book written by D. V. Cyril is a valuable attempt in this direction. Longtime experience of Mr. Cyril in the editorial wing of Kerala State Institute of Languages has been of immense help to him in writing this book.
