
Koodiyattam is an Indian art form originated in 13th century which involves the presence of both male and female artists on the stage. The women were allowed to cover the upper body to come to stage during those times in Koodiyat-tam and it was a time where women did not cover their upper body in the context of Kerala.
It focuses on the gender identity construction of Koodiyattam focussing on the different as-pects like characters, content, institutions and the contributions of women performers.
